Update: 2nd visit to J&G Steakhouse
Well, after I posted my blog about J&G Steakhouse here in Scottsdale, I got a call from my mother. It went something like this..
“Hello?” – me
“So, it looks like from your blog that you’re having a good time going to restaurants without me,” – mom
“It wouldn’t be a good time unless you were there. (wink..wink)” – me
“Jay Please…Well, you’re going to take me to J&G Steakhouse tonight. I’ll pay” – mom
“uh, what time should we be there?” – me
Needless to say, the second experience was equally as impressive as the first. This time we sat down in the dining room (as opposed to the lounge). Of course I had the Sweet and Sour Pork Bellies again and to mix it up, I ordered the Steamed 1 ½ lb Lobster with Tabasco butter. Considering I love all things spicy, the Tabasco gave the butter a nice kick that complemented the delicate and juicy lobster.
My mom ordered the 8oz Filet (cooked medium), with a side of Steamed Broccoli, Parmesan and Chili. All very good. The filet is just the right size so it leaves room to take a few bites off the plates of the other people at the table.
I highly recommend that when you visit, go around sunset and request a table next to the huge and expansive windows. Its really like a huge painting that frames the beautiful Arizona sunset.

This time around, was able to meet more of their staff. Eric (manager), Elena (special events coordinator), Andrew (server) and Eric (server). People let me tell you, even on the second visit, the service was just as flawless as the first time! Alicia (from the first visit) was covering hostess duties, but graciously stopped by the table to ensure everything was to our liking and to meet my mom.
This is a definite must on your restaurants to visit list!! Click here to make a reservation.
P.S. Something that I didn’t mention the first time is that they have a Raw Bar on the menu. Next time I’m there, I’ll be all about that!
